The bottoms are not tight, they are perfect around my thighs, loose but flattering around the mid section almost loose at the top but doesn't come down (haven't tested in water, have a feeling it might be a little see through). These bottoms are amazing! I have wide hips and hate how tight bottoms typically are on my hips, but these fit surprisingly well and are so cute! The only issue I had was with the top being too small for my chest. I wear a 36E and ordered a XXL and had trouble with underboob falling out. Otherwise it's a great purchase!
